Cortec VpCI Films

Superior corrosion protection

VpCI-126 Blue Film

High Technology Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibiting Films and Bags Patented Worldwide - Multi-Metal VpCI® Systems
Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor (VpCI®) 126 Series film combines the latest film technology with the most effective corrosion protection for all of your metal products. Sealing your product in Cortec® VpCI® films protects metal parts from all types of corrosion including rust, tarnish, stains, white rust, and oxidation for up to 5 years.* It’s as easy as putting your product in a Cortec® VpCI® package! Cortec® VpCI® films and bags replace conventional rust preventatives such as oils and desiccants. You save even more because VpCI® packaging eliminates the degreasing or coating removal required in the past. Now your product can be used immediately. VpCI®-126 is transparent, making it easy to identify parts. Additionally, it does not contain free amines, phosphates, or halogen-based materials, and is non-toxic and recyclable. VpCI®-126 Series films and bags protect metal objects as small as a needle to as large as the contents of an oceangoing container. VpCI®-126 Blue can be manufactured utilizing a wide array of the most advanced resins. Custom blends are available to give you the exact properties you need, whether it’s improved puncture resistance, tear strength, or other requirements.

Cor-Pak EX VpCI Film

Cor-Pak EX VpCI Film is made using high-density polyethylene and extruding with Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors (VpCI) to protect ferrous and most non-ferrous metals from corrosion. Simply wrap the metal object with Cor-Pak EX film. The VpCI in the film volatilizes and migrates with air then condenses on all metal surfaces, reaching all exposed and recessed areas. Cor-Pak EX VpCI Film provides a high level of corrosion inhibitor protection along with the excellent moisture barrier properties of high-density polyethylene film. It is unaffected by most solvents, strong acids, and alkalies. Incorporating Cortec’s proven Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors, Cor-Pak EX VpCI Film is the ideal solution when a combination of multimetal and mechanical protection is desired.

Cor-Pak VpCI Skin Film

Cor-Pak VpCI Skin Film is the ultimate in skin film for retail showroom display of metal products. Cor-Pak VpCI Skin Film utilizes the latest surlyn based resin in combination with Cortec’s patented VpCI technology providing a two year corrosion free life with a crystal clear appearance. These two technologies allow Cor-Pak VpCI Skin Film to have the clarity and corrosion inhibition necessary for even the most extreme packaging conditions. Once packaged, Cor-Pak VpCI Skin Film releases Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors (VpCIs) that create a monomolecular layer of protection on the surface of the metal. Additionally, the superior strength of Cor-Pak VpCI Skin Film provides barrier and mechanical protection while remaining suitable for retail or end-user display. Metal parts protected with Cor-Pak VpCI Skin Film are easily inspected during shipment and storage. Cleaning, rust removal and other additional steps are not required once the part is removed from the packaging, even if the parts need to be welded, soldered or painted. Cor-Pak VpCI Skin Film leaves the exposed metal surfaces clean and contaminant free. Cor-Pak VpCI Skin Film can be applied with standard skin packaging equipment and typically provides corrosion protection for up to two years.
FEATURES
  • Immobilizes product for ease of handling and shipping
  • Overall cost of skin packaging is much less than  dunnage materials used in industrial packaging and requires much less storage space.
  • Compared to blister package, total skin packaging cost is generally less, if the product and blister are large in relation to the card.
  • Improved heat-seal and hot tack strength
  • Low seal initiation temperature
  • Provides wider operating windows
  • Faster line speeds
  • Reduces product deterioration
  • Superior overall toughness
  • Improved product protection
  • Improved package appearance

Corr Seal VpCI Film

Non-toxic, flexible, lightweight, cohesive system available for paper, polyethylene and corrugated packaging.
Corr Seal VpCI Film protects metal through both vapor action and contact corrosion inhibition. The VpCIs vaporize and deposit on all metal surfaces, reaching even recesses or indentations on the product. Corr Seal VpCI Film sticks firmly and only to itself, leaving no residue on the packed items. The film creates a positive pressure seal without heat. Corr Seal VpCI Film is produced from the highest quality LLDPE resin and contains cohesive latex which is formulated with VpCIs for long-lasting protection against corrosion.
FEATURES
  • Protects ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
  • Transparent and puncture resistant.
  • Can be used on automatic wrapping lines and cold seal machines.
  • Provides continuous protection up to 24 months.
